A SavvyEats Local Favorite – TFK BOCA!

Although this is not my first rodeo at True Food Kitchen, the new TFK Boca Raton location hits perfectly close to home and I could not be happier. I recently attended preview event before the grand opening and was reminded of all the reasons I love this place.

.

Johnny Cakes + Smashed Avocado Toast

.

.

Reason 1: TFK regularly highlights seasonal menu items and updates the menu on this premise. The new Spring Menu will feature five new dishes and six new beverages, with slight updates to some of the current menu items. The Spring Menu changes are driving more toward-a lowered use of ‘added sugar’ which I find so valuable in this world where sugar is in just about everything.

Poke Preview

Reason 2: Keeping up with what’s trendy. You want avocado toast, TFK’s got it. How about a nice poke bowl? Yep they’ve got that too. With the seasonality of the menu its nice that TFK does a good job at keeping up with those hot items but also keeps it fresh and in season. Not only does using foods in season produce amazingly flavorful dishes, they are also healthier and helpful for our environment! The nutrient (vitamin /mineral) content of organic fruits and vegetables harvested during their traditional growing season is much higher compared to a strawberry grown overseas an sprayed with pesticides. Think about those food miles and the efforts it takes to ship it over to the states. This all impacts our carbon footprint and environment.

Best* Hummus* Ever*

Reason 3: Seriously, the best hummus ever. I love the freshness it’s so good you will want to slap some on your Johnny Cake, trust me. Now I know, you can get hummus anywhere and in any flavor you want. Hey, you can even make your own hummus- which I am totally supportive of. But, if you are anything like me and feel that sometimes the homemade hummus or store bought just doesn’t make the cut TFK hummus will knock your socks off.

Roasted Heirloom Carrots + Edamame Dumplings
.
.
.
Reason 4: Unique additions. The flavor to these edamame dumplings and heirloom carrots were very impressive. Making vegetable based dishes simple and delicious is an art and I was so delighted by these two starters.
